According to Ankit Tiwari, a yoga guru, doing yoga can help people fight the COVID-19 virus as it boosts the immune system. Ankit added that there are many yogic postures (or asanas) that can strengthen the adrenal and thyroid glands and boost the endocrine as well as the liver.

For Ankit, hormonal balance is the key to significantly improving immunity. He also added that practicing yoga is highly beneficial during these stressful times as it can help effectively manage both physical and mental issues. 

He added that travel restrictions, panic over the risk of death and infection, and the continuous flow of negative news has led to a fast increase in anxiety and stress levels. In addition, being confined to the four corners of the house is not helping much either. 

It not only contributes to the feeling of isolation, it also helps foster anxiety and depression.

Apart from connecting with family and friends and maintaining a healthy lifestyle,  he also recommends incorporating yoga in the daily routine.

Yoga not only helps calm the mind and keep anxiety at bay, it also helps strengthen the muscles and remove toxins from the body.

This might not be common knowledge but anxiety and stress can trigger the parasympathetic nervous system and can cause several health problems including shortness of breath, loss of appetite, lack of concentration, and even hypertension.

Practicing yoga is also considered an all-around exercise that benefits the body, mind, and spirit.
