Managing Chaos, Uncertainty, and Change Through Yoga


While yoga may appear to some as just a mere workout designed to enhance and strengthen the physical body, yoga can actually do so much more.

In fact, for some, yoga is considered one of the strongest (if not unlikely) allies when times are turbulent.

The amazing science of self-realization often associated with the practice is a potent foundation to lean on when uncertainty takes over, negative emotions arise, and when life in general, feel overwhelming.

In essence, yoga teaches that people are more than just physical beings.

In other words, ancient yogis believe we are not limited to the ordinary time-space reality—there is more than what the 5 senses can perceive.

The ancient and amazing practice provides us with the perpetual framework to help us navigate even through the most trying of times.

Yoga helps you embrace change.

There are certain things in life that are constant and change is one of them.

Once you know how to cultivate your “Shiva consciousness” or that pure awareness part of you, you’d be able to use it when dealing with challenges off the mat.

The ego-nature or the “small mind” oftentimes gets caught up worrying about the future or regretting the past.

Fortunately, once you are able to cultivate that part of you that is pure awareness, you will be able to see these so-called mind fluctuations sans any attachment.

It can be akin to resting while in the eye of the storm.

Thoughts, worries, and concerns fly around yet you remain at ease, centered, and connected.

It helps you come up with a clearer vision of where you want to go.

Sankalpa is a word in sanskrit which means heartfelt resolve or intention.

Sankalpa works by helping you align with your greater purpose or dharma so you become more in tune to the flow of the universal forces.

In challenging and turbulent times, it’s easy to feel hopeless and helpless.
